Captain Mommy grew out of Abby’s previous blog, the New York Post’s Capitol Punishment (www.nypost.com/blogs/capitol) and her current book project entitled No Child Left Alone: Getting the Government Out of Parenting.
Abby is a regular contributor to Acculturated, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and the Weekly Standard. Her writings have appeared in Reason Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Commentary, Bee Magazine, Tablet, the Jerusalem Report and the Jewish Review of Books. A Senior Fellow at the Independent Women’s Forum, Abby is a former editorial writer for the Washington Times, a former foreign correspondent for the Forward newspaper, a former marketing associate at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., a former knowledge management editor at McKinsey & Company, and a former hat check girl at the Peel Pub in her hometown of Montreal.
When not working, Abby spends her days in Iron City raising four children with her artist husband Ben Schachter.
